  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
    If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Pagespeed on Plesk 12 (Ubuntu) with apache and nginx proxy -- which package, and how?

Jonkeren

New Pleskian
Hello all.
We have a dedicated server running "OK", but I wish to use Google Pagespeed.
But now I do not know which package to choose, and how to install.
I do not want to mess up Plesk.

Can anyone please point me in the right direction?

Our server setup:
Host domain: http://www.pinkcubeshops.de
Server: Intel i5 Proc., 32 GB RAM, 2x256GB SSD
OS: ‪Ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS‬
Plesk version: 12.5.30 Update #9, last updated at Nov 5, 2015 10:16 PM

We have Apache running, with nginx as a front-end proxy.
In hosting settings, it says "PHP version 5.5.9 by OS vendor, run PHP as FastCGI application served by Apache".

So should I choose the "apache" or the "nginx" version on the Google Download Page?
https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/module/

And what are the next steps?
Thank you very much !!

@Jonkeren,

An interesting post for you: http://talk.plesk.com/threads/install-page-speed-google-nginx.335615/

However, try to prevent the pagespeed module for Nginx (see my last post in the before mentioned topic thread).

There are many ways to get good or even perfect PageSpeed/Yslow scores, without using the pagespeed module for Nginx.

Regards

PS By the way, are you Dutch? If so, it would be more easy to start a conversation in our native language, isn´t it?

Hallo Trialotto, ja dat klopt.
Dank voor je bericht.
Zou je mij even willen bellen op [tel] ?
Misschien kun jij, als Plesk & Linux guru, meer voor mij betekenen.
Hartelijk dank.

@Jonkeren,

Ik zal even een "conversation" aanmaken (zie je profiel pagina, of onder "conversations" op dit forum).

Hopelijk lees je daar even verder en kunnen we het een en ander bespreken.

MvG....

PS Ik zou het telefoonnummer even verwijderen......gemakshalve.
