• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Parallels Marketplace and Domains

dnstroubles

New Pleskian
Hi,

I've got a serious problem with a domain I purchased from parallels marketplace.

I have a plesk installation at my current provider (server4you.de) and I ordered a domain via the integrated services of plesk: marketplace.parallels.com

Great. So now I own the domain.

However, I cannot propagate my IP or set the domain's dns servers. Of course, a proper DNS template has already been applied.

My plesk installation is not hosted by parallels. My provider (server4you.de) sais, they can't do anything, because I ordered via plesk panel. The domain has been purchased via marketplace.parallels.com, but the registrar is tucows. I have no user account for tucows. Regardless what the plesk KB sais, it is NOT possible on my marketplace account to set the nameservers. I don't have that option in my marketplace account.

I am really desparate by now. It seems like I have a domain now that I cannot use. Where can I set the nameservers for the domain?

Moreover, it seems impossible to find someone who can help you on the issue. The parallels support is hidden behind seemingly 1000 barriers. Whom can I contact to set the nameservers for me?

I CANNOT even transfer the domain to my provider as the domain status is "server transfer prohibited".

Please help or give me my money back :-(

I feel like this is a bad joke.

Does anyone know at least if there's a support hotline for marketplace that I can contact? All the support hotlines I found require a license key which don't accept my license? How can it be that I purchase something, cannot use it and don't event get support on something that clearly isn't my fault at all (other than buying from parallels?). I really want that domain, it's not about the money. But I won't pay again for a support ticket for something that isn't my fault.
