PHP5.4 and Parallels Plesk Panel 11.5.30

Hi,

I installed php5.4 from the webtatic repo (http://www.webtatic.com/packages/php54) on my Centos machine quite a while ago and it's been working really well. I love php5.4! However I realized that my Parallels Plesk Panel wasn't working and so today decided to tackle it and make it work again. Using the auto installer (http://autoinstall.plesk.com/plesk-installer) all seems to be working but then I get an error message and it all stops:

Attempt to remove 'php54w-common' to resolve conflict has succeeded
Exception: Failed to solve dependencies:
php54w-mysql-5.4.16-1.w6.x86_64 requires php54w-common = 5.4.16-1.w6
php54w-mysql-5.4.16-1.w6.x86_64 requires php54w-pdo

I really don't know what steps to take to resolve this issue. Any help or ideas out there?

Does that only apply to 11.5? I still have 11.0 installed and am too scared to update to 11.5 but i am having an issue with EPEL build php 5.4 (not able to get pecl running ....) Does anybody have a hint on this?

I'm afraid no, this doesn't apply to 11.0.

While you might be able to install it manually on 11.0 (and it should work as expected, if you manage to install it; however I would expect similar conflicts) you will likely have problems when a scheduled automatic update via Parallels Installer (aka Autoinstaller) will be launched, since it will attempt to replace you alternative PHP version with an OS vendor one (which in the worst case will fail terribly, leaving you with a broken PHP). Therefore I don't recommend installing it on Plesk 11.0.

BTW, Plesk 11.5 has multiple PHP versions support, so you can install multiple versions alongside each other and use different versions for different sites (Atomic provides an array of PHP versions in their repos for that feature).

So whats the chance of updating to 11.5 and everything is running? I have had some bad migrations before.
