  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Question plesk 12.5 upgrade - Courier-IMAP

galaxy

Regular Pleskian
When performing the migration check, I get the following:

|- info: Courier-IMAP is not installed on the destination server.
| Please install Courier-IMAP by using Plesk Installer.

I was thinking that the system would migrate from Courier to Dovecot.
Is that not the case? If the old system is Courier, is it required to have the new system Courier too?

Hi galaxy,

the task to switch from courier-imap to dovecot, or the other way round, is as simple as you even could think of: Just switch to the desired software and Plesk will do the rest for you ( you could either use the webinstaller, or the command line after the migration). Be informed, that switching between postfix and qmail / courier-imap and dovecot is not a migration task.
Even that the switching task is this simple, the migration will always nag, when source and destination server don't use the very same services and modules.

Hi,

So I should migrate using whats installed, i.e. courier. Then after the migration switch to dovecot (which is where I'd rather be).
Is that right?
