  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Plesk Backup hangs on backing up big database

Thomas Becker

Basic Pleskian
Hello,
The Plesk Backup Tool hangs without proceeding anymore and without showing error messages. I tried commandline backup and also vie Plesk Panel. The backup of the vhost is done successfully (tgz is created in /var/lib/psa/dumps/clients/…) but no database backup is created in /var/lib/psa/dumps/clients/… . The database is about 2 GB.

I successfully did a test dump of that database with
mysqldump DB -u"USER" -p"PASSWORD" -h"localhost" > testdump

I can't find something related to that in the log files:
/usr/local/psa/PMM/sessions/<session>/psadump.log
/usr/local/psa/PMM/sessions/<session>/migration.log
/usr/local/psa/PMM/logs/migration.log
/usr/local/psa/PMM/logs/pmmcli.log

Please give me some advice to track that down.
Thanks.

Thomas

Hello InderS,
thanks for your answer.
Meanwhile I found the solution by my own. MU#53 fixed it.
So the problem was not the big database.
