Error when updating plesk 7.5.4 to 8.0

I try to update my Plesk to new version 8, from my Control Panel and present/display the following error in the panel, please to help to repair this problem thank you very much me.

The upgrade didn't work correctly. Check in /tmp for the logfiles to see what errors are listed. You'll probably need to drop back to 7.5.4 then re-upgrade.

How to safely swtich back to 7.5.4, please advice with steps. I am in big trouble.
