  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Plesk Favorite Icon

Hello,

I noticed when we switched from quickstart to plesk vps we got the red icon, kind of looks like a sun, next to the page name in IE7 tabs and other places.

Anyway, I just put my own favicon in my root directory, favicon.ico file, and put the following in my head tag> on the home page: <link rel="shortcut icon" href="favicon.ICO">.

After all of this I now get the red sun icon next to the url in the address bar and on some bookmarked pages. Is this something plesk does. If so How do I get that icon off my pages so I can use mine?

www.attainresponse.com to see what I mean.

Thanks

Hi there,

Just figured out that the default .skel contains a favicon.ico file.
So every site you create will contain this icon. Browsers always look for a favicon.ico in the root of the website so that icon is always taken. Just delete it and / or replace it with one of your own.

Kind regards,
Onno.
