• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

8.30 Windows Server 2003 RC2 was updated from SP1 to SP2 last night and now every hour or so the adminstrator is getting this email:

Plesk key update deferral notification

License key PLSK.xxxxxxxx.0000 is up-to-date. (I added the xx's :)

No errors in the plesk logs (for a change ;-)
Port 5224 is open
License is good till July 15, 2008

Any suggestions, It's just annoying.

John

I was having this issue, I opened a ticket with my data center, they in turn opened one with sw soft and found that it was a server undergoing maintenance and i have noticed now they have stopped.

Please contact SWsoft support, hotfix soon will be available.

As of March 27, 2008 this hot fix did not work and im having the same issue every hour getting emails "Plesk key update deferral notification" just started out of the blue maby 3 days ago

I do want to add (i didnt think about it untill I just went and manually reuploaded my key) that this problem started after I had the power pack added to my license.

Add me to this list this start a few days ago and is becoming hugely annoying.

By the way... I applied the "hotfix" mentioned above and I JUST got 2 more key update deferral notification

Have You tried checking Your firewall to see if it is open for plesk to update/check the key?

We previously had the same problem and opening the port solved the problem.

We have not changed our firewall config for a good 6 months. I know this because I am the only one on our IT team that has any access to the firewall.

Plus the email sounds as if the key is already up to date! Like it is trying to update the key when it doesn't need to.

License key PLSK.XXXXXXXX.XXXX is up-to-date.

we have the same issue on an install we just upgraded to 8.3 from 8.2 and its damn annoying surely theres a solution?

Has anyone found a solution to this? I have installed the hotfix and now they come every ~12 hours instead of every hour? What about retrieving license keys in the License manager? will that work?

Now I am getting the same as well. My Windows Server 2003 just got updated and now this message is coming out every hour. I have no idea how to stop the message, disable it or fix it, so any help from the admins would be appreciated!
