• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Hi

I have been fighting my Plesk server all day as it goes down again and again. Messages on the System Event Viewer show the following right BEFORE the server dies:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Service Control Manager
Event Category: None
Event ID: 7034
Date: 13/07/2005
Time: 08:43:11 p.m.
User: N/A
Computer: DED725-WIN
Description:
The Plesk Name Server service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 9 time(s).

The Plesk services monitor show Plesk Name Server off and I can't start it nor from the services monitor or from Plesk's admin panel.

Any advise will be greatly appreciated

I should mention that I manage domain's DNS on separate server, I really don't use BIND on my Plesk Server.

My server is brand new and already the plesk dns is failing and will not come back up. This started when I added a domain alias to a domain just ti test out the feature. Apparently that will break the Plesk DNS :(

How can I fix this HUGE problem?

Well, I found that the event viewer was showing the the domain entry from the domain alias was duplicating itself in the DNS file and throwing an "already added" error. So instead of dealing with it, the Plesk DNS server just gives up and fails to start up. Manually going in to the file C:\Program Files\SWsoft\Plesk\dns\etc\named.conf and deleting that entire entry as well as the entry in the Plesk interface seems to have repaired this issue.

Sheesh.
