  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Plesk Onyx 17.0.17 to 17.5.3 update problem because of Dovecot

Just for your information, I'm facing the same issue with Strato & the Plesk update from 17.07. to 17.5 with "Setting up plesk-dovecot-imap-driver (17.5.3-ubuntu16.04.build1705170317.16)"

Please check your system logs. This can not be that nothing is recorded.

You find the error in this logs.

What you mean with the system halt? Completly or only the install?

You can test this in a VM! Please install virtualbox. You can create easy snapshoots to recover the old state! This is nice to have If you can not test on your live system.

You can install ubuntu and copy some configurations from the etc folder, from your livesystem!

If you think there is a bug, then you find it in the vm.
