  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

New Pleskian
Hello,
I have a question.
Plesk Onyx on Windows Server 2012 R2 or Linux server what do you recommend?

Virtulization environment in which to run Plesk Onyx, Windows 2012 R2 Datacenter Hyper-V
Advantages and disadvantages?

Thank You for Answer

In my opinion, it depends on which system you are an expert - Linux or Windows.
It is also important, do you need any specific hosting technologies, typical for Windows, for example.

Expert on both Linux and Windows.
Maybe some applications will run on ASP.net.

Is the speed and stability of the system the same for Windows and Linux?

Thank you

Do you mean speed of sites or Plesk UI? Note, that On Plesk for Linux sites may work on nginx. In case of Windows - IIS only.

I always go linux, unless there is a technical need for Windows like for ASP, but even there you always have mod_mono....
