• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Plesk, Outlook 2010 and IMAP trouble

Hello !

I've got some trouble using the version 11 of Plesk Power Panel (Linux).

When I use the default settings of plesk mail server (relaying via smtp) I can't send E-Mails, when I turn on relaying via POP3 after SMTP - then I can send mails, but Outook 2010 doesn't retrieve new mails automatically. I have to click on each e-mail account for retrieving new e-mails. The error message is:

Servererror: "554 5.7.1 <myname.myname@domain.com>: Relay access denied"'

And, yes. I have used google and bing for help...

Any suggestions?

Greetings,

Martin

Check the relaying setting in the server-wide mail preferences( Tools & Settings -> Mail Server Settings) and ensure that "authorization is required" check-box is enabled.

Kindly cross-check the issue with the article http://kb.parallels.com/en/1394

Hi Martin,

I am having the same problem. See my post

Make sure you are authenticating to your 'outgoing' mail server and not the incoming, and may I also suggest you enable Mail submission through Tools & Settings -> Mail, then in outlook change the default SMTP port from 25 to 587.
