• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Plesk Panel php script running for hours

Al Crowley

New Pleskian
Hi all,

I have had an intermittent problem with Plesk php scripts running for hours on my server sucking up resources. When we first installed, about a year ago, I saw it maybe once a month. It seems to be getting more frequent and I've seen it twice this week!

I've used process explorer to see what is going on a few times. I recently started keeping track of the specific command line for the runaway process as shown by process explorer. Here are the two different command lines I've seen:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Parallels\Plesk\admin\bin\php.exe" -d auto_prepend_file="" "C:\Program Files (x86)\Parallels\Plesk\billing\\lib\admin\sbin\runevents.php"

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Parallels\Plesk\admin\bin\php.exe" -q -dauto_prepend_file="" -c php.ini "C:\Program Files (x86)\Parallels\Plesk\admin\plib\DailyMaintainance\script.php"

When I've found these processes they have been running for hours. I find them because the server performance will get really bad when it is happening. These processes will take a full CPU slowing down any CPU intensive website.

Does anyone have an idea why I'm getting this problem? Any ideas on how to make it stop?

Thanks,
-Al
