Resolved Plesk ping on the server does return outside ip adress instead local ip

buraker

New Pleskian
Server operating system version
Ubuntu 24.04 LTS
Plesk version and microupdate number
18.0.56
I have a website configured on plesk linux. I created cname from the domain owner through the cloudflare SaaS. Cloudflare shows everything as expected and active. When I enter the website through my local browser it returns default web server page. Then, when I log in to server through ssh and ping the domain it shows outside ip located on cloudflare. But when I curl on the server to domain name it returns the correct page.

So in summary,

Host / Tool -> Response
1. personal pc / browser -> server default page
2. server / ping ->cloudflare ip
3. server /curl -> correct page

What could be the reason for it?

Thank you in advance.

Hello, @buraker . Maybe a browser cache or Cloudflare cache. Can you try using another browser or private/incognito mode (if you haven't already)?

DO I need to add www.mydomain.com to /etc/hosts file?

If you are referring to the hosts file on your local computer, you can temporarily edit it and point the domain directly to the server IP address to bypass Cloudflare for the sake of testing.

I meant the server hosts file. But I managed it to work. I reset my modem so got fresh dns queries. All working now.
