Plesk, Tomcat, Java-based CMS intergration problems

I have server that is running plesk 8.1.1. I also have a Java based content management system which I want to use to create my websites. The problem is that the CMS is an *.exe instillation that also installs its tomcat server, although a bit older.

Unfortunately the application does not allow me to specify where I choose to install the tomcat or if whether I can use a currently existing tomcat server.

Is there any way to have plesk intergrate with a tomcat server installed somewhere else by another application. Or even have the version of tomcat that plesk has to upgrade the older version of the tomcat that my CMS uses.

Could you please specify what about CMS application are you talking and which Tomcat version it ships?

Its a South African made content management system called Unysen. It's running on an earlier Tomcat 5, most probably 5.0, whereas I see that plesk runs tomcat 5.5

To tell the truth I'm only a web developer and I haven't had all that much exposure to server management until now. I bought a server as a natural progression and also because I could not find a host that would be willing to hold this application.

I grasp the concepts quick and I have the app running on the server on a different port. Plesk is not picking it up, or atleast it doesn't seem so to me, and I'm afraid that this is getting to be bit more complex than I anticipated.

I understand the logic behind the connectors but I noticed that I'm going to be moving towards making registry entries and I can't afford to have the server malfunctioning as I won't have a clue as to how to fix it(well, less of a clue than I have currently  ).

I'll practice the link you gave on a local machine and google what I don't know but I have a bit of a time constraint. I'm just not sure how steep the learning curve is.

I'm hosting the app here temporarily www.thebasement.co.za/unysen.zip

All I need, at the moment, is to have the app running on port 80 with plesk managing my domains and client accounts.

I saw a lot of posts here about Ngasi.

I went to the website and It seems like something that could help. Obviously, I would like to sort this problem out as simply as possible. But if push comes to shove, could it help and would it be worth investing in?
