postfix Message Size Limit

nocrash

Basic Pleskian
---------------------------------------------------------------
PRODUCT, VERSION, OPERATING SYSTEM, ARCHITECTURE

Plesk 10.4.4 MU#26 OpenSuse 11.4 x64

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION

Message Size Limit can be set by Plesk Mailserver Configuration and didnt check if mailbox_size_limit is set at server configuration.

postfix didnt start, mail.info prints out "fatal: main.cf configuration error: mailbox_size_limit is smaller than message_size_limit"

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

The problem starts, IF mailbox_size_limit is set by system default or by admin at /etc/postfix/main.cf

ACTUAL RESULT

postfix refused to start

EXPECTED RESULT

Maybe Plesk should set mailbox_size_limit=0 to avoid any problems, at least ... the mailboxes sizes are controlled by other plesk services.

ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

--------------------------------------------------------------

Could you please clarify a little bit what do you mean
didnt check if mailbox_size_limit is set at server configuration.
? Is this parameter was specified manually in Postfix config or it is default Postfix config for OpenSUSE?

The Postfix mailbox_size_limit of the Plesk installation in main.cf is 512000.
If the message size manually edited in the Plesk backend postfix give the error "fatal: main.cf configuration error: mailbox_size_limit is smaller than message_size_limit".

A quick fix is to set "mailbox_size_limit = 0" (unlimited), so can you please include this fix?!

Thank you. It is already reported and developers are working on it.

Due to this problem I lost all the emails sent to me after a 3 day downtime due to a migration to 10.4.4
