• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Postfix & PLESK: Problems with Delivery

ehrenwert

Basic Pleskian
Hello dear PLESK-Team,

I've got one server: Its called "server2.mein-provider.de" this server has got 2 IP-adresses:

- 2xx.7x.1x9.1x4
and
- 8x.3x.1xx.1x0

The Domain "project1.de" uses the IP 8x.3x.1xx.1x0
The Domain "projekt2.de" uses the IP 2xx.7x.1x9.1x4.

Both IP-adresses do have an rdns-record: "server2.mein-provider.de".

If I send a mail from "Versender@projekt1.de" this mail is delivered - and not sorted into the spam-dir...

If I send a mail from "Versender@projekt2.de", this mail is delivered BUT gets sorted into the spam-dir...

The headers are almost equal - there is only one difference:

Working (project1.de)
Received: from server2.mein-provider.de (server2.mein-provider.de [8x.3x.1xx.1x0])

Not working (project2.de)
Received: from server2.mein-provider.de (unknown [2xx.7x.1x9.1x4])

Why is it "unknown" in this line? Isn't that the place where the HELO-output should be?

Thanks a lot for your help!

This might be due to DNS misconfiguration for 2xx.7x.1x9.1x4 server, which results in SPF marking your mails as spam. You may check headers of mails from this IP to confirm the guess.
