• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Postfix sending spam, even if relay is closed

moppentappers

New Pleskian
Hello,

My postfix is sending huge amounts of e-mail that I was forced to stop postfix.

Even if I set relaying to closed, disable message submission and disable sendmail spam is still being send..
Outgoing mail control reports nothing at all, and if I check my server with online tools to be sure it is not relaying everything is reported fine.

What on earth can I do to make this huge problem stop?!

@moppentappers,

It is important that you post some additional information, amongst others with respect to and/or related to the questions:

  1. is the mail send from the server, OR a specific domain?
  2. are there indications in the mail.log that a mail account has been hijacked?
  3. are there indications in the auth.log that the server has been hacked?
  4. is "spamming" still present, after shutdown of postfix?
and those are (for the time being) the most important questions.

Please provide some additional information, since in most cases one simple action can resolve the whole issue.

Kind regards....
