Problem with "Enable MAPS spam protection"

Hi,

today I have activated option "Enable MAPS spam protection" and I have added "zen.spamhaus.org".

First, service has functions very well, but after I hace received a lot of calls from my clients say me " I can't send mails!!! I have received a error "... http://www.spamhaus.org/query/bl?ip=80.39.98.xxx".

All clients have same problem. Ip's are not equal.

Then, I turn off "Enable MAPS spam protection" to I don't have any problem more.

Can you say me what's the problem or what Can I do?

Have you read the ZEN page to see what you were enabling? ZEN is a DNSBL that contains the data of the SBL, XBL and PBL blocklists. Quote: "Because ZEN includes the XBL and PBL lists, do not use ZEN on smarthosts or SMTP AUTH outbound servers for your own customers (or you risk blocking your own customers)."

What you can do is have your users switch to sending on the submission port (587) instead of 25. This both gets around the RBL's, and helps when their ISP blocks outbound port 25 traffic, which is fairly common.

Can I work with other server to configure "Enable MAPS spam protection" ??

Just read what a blocklist blocks before adding it. If you have customers on dial-up you better not add a blocklist that lists dial-up addresses (like ZEN) for instance.

or with all servers I'm going to have problems?

You can add any DNSBL you like. Just make sure you want to block addresses listed by the DNSBLs you add.

No, I don't want to block address. Only I want to add one server where my mail service can to query all mails to know if they are spam or not.

Isn't it "Enable MAPS spam protection" porpuse?

No, that is not what this feature is for. For what you want you need to modify MX DNS records so mail is sent to a spam gateway and the spam gateway should then send the filtered mail to your server.

Buf, but then I have to change MX DNS for all clients... and I have to rent spam gateway than I imagine very expensive... can you give me information about any spam gateway provider?

I have working DCC,Pyzor,Razor, Bayesian filters and Spamassassin but I have gotten a lot of spam.

What other solution you offers me to fight spam?
