• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

redhat compatibility upgrade question

i have installed a fresh Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 (RedHat el4 2.6.9-5.EL) with the minimal installation option.
i have installed all redhat updates with "up2date" and was skipping only the kernel updates.
then i have installed Plesk 7.5.4 with the autoinstaller.
plesk was installing all needed packages like apache, mysql, spamassing, qmail, libc.........
everything is working great and plesk is running very well! (great experience)

after the plesk auto installation, i have type "up2date -l" and become following new redhat updates available:
----------------------------------------------------------
Name Version Rel
----------------------------------------------------------
apr 0.9.4 24.5 i386
apr-util 0.9.4 21 i386
curl 7.12.1 8.rhel4 i386
httpd 2.0.52 19.ent i386
httpd-suexec 2.0.52 19.ent i386
libc-client 2002e 14 i386
mod_ssl 2.0.52 19.ent i386
mysql 4.1.12 3.RHEL4.1 i386
mysql-server 4.1.12 3.RHEL4.1 i386
php 4.3.9 3.9 i386
php-imap 4.3.9 3.9 i386
php-mysql 4.3.9 3.9 i386
php-pear 4.3.9 3.9 i386
php-pgsql 4.3.9 3.9 i386
postgresql-libs 7.4.8 1.RHEL4.1 i386
spamassassin 3.0.4 1.el4 i386
----------------------------------------------------------

now, my question is following: is it safe to update this rpm-packages or does something break? do i have better to wait and use the plesk upgrader or can i go forward with up2date from redhat? do i run in a problem with my support contract? whats the commendation from plesk and whats your personal commendation?

thanks for your help!

best regards
