• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Hello,

Sorry for the newbie questions, never used software like this.

I have a Dell Poweredge 1850 that I wish to play with the trial version on. I have a fresh install of Windows Server 2003 R2 SP2 and now i'm ready to install. I have purchased a domain to test with, but i'm a little unsure about whats next. Is there anything I need to do with windows before installing Plesk Panel apart from install IIS?

Thanks
John

Hello John,

Take a look at the Meeting Installation Requirements page of the Parallels Plesk Panel 9.2 for Windows Installation Guide:

http://download1.parallels.com/Plesk/PPP9/Doc/en-US/plesk-9.2-win-installation-guide/6365.htm

Before you install Parallels Plesk Panel on your server, make sure the following requirements are met:
...
Internet Information Server (IIS) is installed on your system with WWW and FTP support.
...

It seems like you should install IIS first.

Regards,
Denis.
