• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

sFTP Feature Request

I'm new to Plesk... Generally I find it great!

I have a suggestion though regarding ftp / sftp access. Most people here I would have though would agree that standard ftp access is completely insecure and a bit of a security risk. There are freely available sFTP clients out there so connecting and transferring files by sFTP is fairly straightforward.

I'd like to suggest that a future version of Plesk manages both ftp and sftp connections. At the moment it still has to be done manually adjusting the account accordindly and adding the user to the allowed group for SSH, or alternatively as someone described in the forum, chrooting the sftp-server.

Just a thought but I think a lot of people would quite like that feature...

What is the current method for enabling sftp? Could someone provide somewhat detailed instructions as to how to enable it in 7.5.2? Many thanks if so!
