  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Site Preview not working without SSL??

Website setup w/Plesk requiring Authentication???

Just set up a new site in Plesk 7. The old site is on another server (6.5) and we're moving to this one.

Before moving DNS over, need to preview to make sure everything is working correctly.... however preview is only working with SSL
(i.e. https://ipaddress/domainname WORKS but http://ipaddress/domainname ASKS FOR USER/PASS).

Any idea what I have set wrong? Didn't have this problem on the Plesk 6.5 server.....

Thanks!

(bump) ... nobody's run into this before? Perhaps I have some permissions set wrong somewhere?

I may be mistaken but in my experience DNS for the domain has to be pointing to the 7.0 server for the site preview function to work.

If you're using shared hosting then you won't see your site unless you have DNS pointing to the new server.

If you're using exclusive hosting then you should be able to go to http://ipaddress and see the site.

It's a mistake in the plesk 7.

on some domains you will have that problem.
the solution is:

- for that domain go to the IIS and properties on that domain
then security and the give the ananymous user IIS...... a password.

- now go to the windows user manager and set exaclty the same password to the same IIS.. ano User as in the IIS.

Then it work.

If you want that the http://ipaddress/domain.com also works
you have also to set that passwort at the default page to the
virtual directory of that desired domain.

i hope that will help. sorry for my english.
