• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

secondary DNS

I forgot to ask 1 last DNS question. Can anyone suggest a good company to host my secondary DNS? I see there are several companies that do this for free, but I have no experience with any of them.

This forum has been so helpful, I figured I'd start here.

Thanks in advance.

I've used dyndns.com's free dynamic domain name service for years (2000!). I don't however know anything about their pay services, but I can at least vouch for their reliability. You may look them up.

Also, you can host your second nameserver on the same server as your primary, you just need another IP that's exclusive to it. dnsstuff will "warn" against this, but it is completely acceptable, and most common.

Thanks Bob, once again.

The second IP on the same server is what I am doing currently. I was just trying to go for a perfect score at dnsstuff.

If it is common practice, I'll stop the insanity and stay where I'm at!

I have 4 IP's at my host - main ip, shared ip (for clients) and two ns ip's. I have asked them to setup reverse dns on my ip's to solve the smtp issue and they asked me what name should I give them - any ideas what names should I have in my reverse dns ip's?

Thank you all . That also worked for me. -R fixed it immediately. You cannot imagine how many hours i have spent trying to find what is the issue. My host were not much helpful in the case, but thanks god you were.
