• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

smtp_auth vs relaylock

For some reason under the
relaying / authorization is required settings... if I have both POP and SMTP active, users cannot use smtp authentication in their client software.

If I turn off the POP setting, then authentication works again.

Has anyone else been experiencing this problem?

I had the same problem after upgrade to 8.4.0. Fixed it by checking "Only use of full POP3/IMAP mail accounts names is allowed". I was able to turn SMTP back on as well as requiring authorization. Your users will have to change their User Name in whatever email program to include their domain they are using but it seems to be a valid work around until this is fixed.

I had these problem once.I think it depends on the type of email client connecting, take for instance outlook. you will have to enable "Log on to incoming mail server before sending mail"
