• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Issue Softaculous extension install failing

opsis

New Pleskian
Softaculous install fails from the extension catalog with the following error:
Error: Failed to install the extension:
Execution of /opt/psa/tmp/modulefTzGiw/plib/scripts/pre-install.php failed with exit code 1 and the output:
ionCube Loader is not loaded. Please enable it to continue installation

I thought that ionCube was loaded by default in Plesk?

Install missing ioncube loader and posix for OS vendor's php with

# yum install php5-ioncube-loader php-process

after that repeat Softaculous installation.

AFAIK, it is php-posix package on Debian instead of php-process on CentOS.

PHP 7.0.8-0ubuntu0.16.04.3 (cli) ( NTS )

also did an apt-get remove, and reinstall
apt-get remove --purge, and reinstall
and, plesk installer --select-release-current --reinstall-patch --upgrade-installed-components

Do you have in output something like this:

# php -v
PHP 5.4.16 (cli) (built: Nov 6 2016 00:29:02)
Copyright (c) 1997-2013 The PHP Group
Zend Engine v2.4.0, Copyright (c) 1998-2013 Zend Technologies
with the ionCube PHP Loader (enabled) + Intrusion Protection from ioncube24.com (unconfigured) v5.0.18, Copyright (c) 2002-2015, by ionCube Ltd.

?

root@kronos:~# php -v
PHP 7.0.8-0ubuntu0.16.04.3 (cli) ( NTS )
Copyright (c) 1997-2016 The PHP Group
Zend Engine v3.0.0, Copyright (c) 1998-2016 Zend Technologies
with Zend OPcache v7.0.8-0ubuntu0.16.04.3, Copyright (c) 1999-2016, by Zend Technologies

So, you need to install php-ioncube-loader for your PHP 7.0.8-0ubuntu0.16.04.3 version. Looks like it is PHP from Ubuntu OS repository. I suppose that ioncube loader pacakage should be there for this php version.
