• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Sorry I wasn't able to establish an SMTP connection (#4.4.1)

New Pleskian
Hi everyone!

I've a dedicated IP installed on my Plesk Server. I have several domains installed, sharing server IP.

I've a lot of problems sending emails from differents domains, some mails are blocked into Mail Queue. When I analized log, I saw this message:

deferral: sorry I wasnt able to establish an SMTP connection (#4.4.1)

I have tested smtp, mail, etc... and everything seems to be ok.

Any solution?

Thank you very much!

Hi Javier12,

Parallels provides various KB - articles in the Parallels knowledge - base at: http://kb.odin.com/

If you use the search, you may find the KB - articles:

I have an issue with mail sending and see errors in the maillog ( KB - article 1398 )

or/and

I am getting "connection timeout" or "connection refused" error when trying to send mail to Plesk mail server ( KB - article 1388 )

If you experience issues/problems and investigate the log - errors, you often will find a detailled error - specification, as in your case "#4.4.1". You might consider searching for your error code as well at "http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc1893.txt", which lists all "Enhanced Mail System Status Codes" and therefore might help you as well to investigate your issue/problem.
