  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
    If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

SpamAssassin crashed and can't start

We are running CentOS 4.3 and Plesk 8.2.1. This morning, SpamAssassin crashed and I can't get it to start. Watchdog keeps monitoring the service and eventually releases it from monitoring because it can't start the service. Trying to start the service from Plesk freezes the entire control panel.

Since SpamAssassin was down, no mail was being delivered, so I disabled spam filtering and now ALL email is being delivered - but I still can't start SpamAssassin.

Any tips? What is the command line option to start or check the status of SpamAssassin? Plesk isn't giving me any error messages to work from - it just says the service cannot be started.

Thanks!

Reinstall spamassassin

Hello,

Re-install a fresh rpm of plesk's spamassassin from the following;

http://autoinstall.plesk.com/
http://autoinstall.plesk.com/PSA_8.2.1/

was there any errors on spamassassin start?:

/etc/init.d/psa-spamassassin start

Also, try to check maillog (/usr/local/psa/var/log/maillog) for any messages from spamd.
