  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Hello.
Every day i receive from watchdog two or more messages about start and stop SpamAssassin and some time apache:

The Plesk SpamAssassin service on host xxx is down.
The problem was discovered on Sep 15, 2007 12:19 AM.

The Plesk SpamAssassin service on host xxx has been started on Sep 15, 2007 12:25 AM.

Log contains nothing, how i can resolve this trouble ?
Thanks.

More details - I am also experiencing this problem

I'm having the same problem. Watchdog stops and starts spamassassin about twice a day. However, when I look at the maillog, spamd is running during that time and properly checking messages. Since spamd isn't really down, why is watchdog doing a stop/start? I notice that the watchdog log says:

'psa_spamassassin' failed protocol test [generic] at UNIX[/tmp/spamd_full.sock].

So it's having trouble making a connection, even though spamc is apparently not having that same trouble. I've increased the wait time in watchdog from 5 seconds to 10, but the problem continues. Any ideas?

watchdog -- spamassassin error

I also have the same problem. The problem started on the first weekly Watchdog scan which I have send a report once a week. Then it started when ever I would run an entire server backup.....

Nothing in the logs and no other issues.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!

Improved performance - not a full solution

Increasing the wait time in Modules>WatchDog>SpamAssassin has improved the performance somewhat. I'm getting fewer spamd restarts. It still happens, but it is happening less.

i have the same
and it doesn't relate to entire backup
any solution??

no answer

is there no answer to this problem? I've noticed spamassassin being shut off every couple of days and I have to restart it manually which is not acceptable

I reduce number of restarts to 1-3 by week ! in this way
Server > Backup Configuration
reduce parameter - Maximum number of simultaneously running scheduled backup processes
and check box - Execute scheduled backup processes with low priority

Is anyone from SWSoft reading this?

I keep checking back here to see if there is a solution to this problem. I have manually stop/start Spamassassin every day. Why is that? Hello SWSoft!!!! Why is that?

Hi,

This is a composite problem in my opinion:
by nature spamassassin is a resource demanding process. it has nothing to do with swsoft.
watchdog is the only software that was capable to kill qvasi perfect software like qmail.

add them toghether and choose an other sofware for monitoring.
