• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Recently I found these errors in Plesk Log:

Type: Error
Event ID: 1
User: N/A
Category: None
Source: statsmng.exe

Unable to call SOAP server: (-2147467259) Unspecified error
Execute file name: C:\Program Files\SWsoft\Plesk\admin\bin\statsmng.exe

We're running Plesk 8.3.001 on Windows 2003 R2 Std (+updates), IIS 6.0 and SmarterStats Professional 3.3.2950. What's the problem?!

this error sounds like Plesk statsmng.exe utility could not connect Mail Server at the time

Hi

We're having exactly the same issue recently, albeit on v8.4 but when we try and change a domain FTP password & if the domain is connected to Smartstats. If we disable SS on the domain the pw can be changed fine without SOAP error.

We suspect something to do with SS admin interaction. Our investigation continues...

There's nothing on the web about this at all.

Hoping someone has seen it or that Plesk can assist?

This error is definately linked to Smarterstats, disconnect the domain from SS and FTP password can be changed without issue.

Try this:

1. Change FTP password and whitness the SOAP error
2. Login to SM's web interface using same credentials as Plesk.
3. Wait a couple of minutes
4. FTP password can now be changed without SOAP error.

We think it's a weird caching issue somewhere. A restart of the SS service will allow one/time limited change...

Uhm, this shouts buggy to me, but where?

Please can Plesk offer a solution?
