• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Question Storing data on SSD and HDD

nucknuck

Basic Pleskian
Hello together,

I have a question and hope that I can get a hint:

I plan to get a server. The accounts that have to be hosted are normaly small websites and many big email accounts.
Because SSD is expensive and limited to 1TB size at my hoster I want to know if this is possible:

2x 1TB SSD RAID1
  • OS
  • Plesk
  • Websites
  • Database

2x 4TB HDD RAID1
  • Mailaccounts
OS: Debian 10 or Ubtuntu 20

I know that mail is located by basic setup at /var/qmail/.

Have I to do a setup of Plesk and have to change the path for storing mail to for example /hddraid1/qmail or is it enough to mount the HDD RAID1 to /var/qmail/ before setup of plesk?

I would choose the second option. It looks simpler.
