• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Subdomain Content not showing on the web

Jay Versluis

Regular Pleskian
I'm not sure where to put the content for my subdomains in Plesk 10. Under Plesk 9 it was mydomain.com/subdomains/mysubdomain/httpdocs but since Plesk 10 it appears to be mydomain.com/subdomains/mysubdomain

No matter where I place my content, it does not appear on the web where I would expect it. Instead I get a blank screen with the message "server not found".

I create my subdomains under "Websites and Domains", "Add Subdomain", give it a name and a directory - that should be it (at least it was in Plesk 9).

What am I doing wrong? Do I need to do anything else for the subdomain to show up?

Subdomains implementation was refactored in Plesk 10.4:

- Subdomain is the same site as a usual domain
- Plesk system files are in …/vhosts/sub.domain.com/… and same structure as for domains
- You can put site root in /subdomains/ (as it was in Plesk 8.x/9.x)
