  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Transferred from WHM/Cpanel but have a couple of issues

Basic Pleskian
Hi

I have transferred over my users from whm/cpanel to and most went well but I have 2 issues

1 - sub domains are OK but a couple of users have their sites looking for www.subdomain.domain and Plesk doesnt seem to be able to decipher that. How can I fix this ASAP as my customer is not happy ? I have tried adding a A record for the www.subdomain ato the IP address and this has half fixed it but not completly......As I had to do this for 50 sub domains I would like to know how to automate if I can. I also added a A name record for *.domain

2 - a few users are having issues sending emails. emails come through OK but they cannot send them.

If anyone could tell me how to fix then that would be great

I am using plesk panel 11.5.30 and linux

Thanks

Martyn

1. Try to use

# plesk bin domain

command with 'update' command and '-new_name' option. '--help' for details.

2. First of all try to find a reason in Plesk maillog - /usr/local/psa/var/log/maillog

Do you mean that your domain names does not works without www prefix?

Hi Igor

Domains resolve no problems with or without www. This is subdomains not resolving with or without www.

I have a user with over 50 subdomains and all links are www.subdomain.domain.com

If you click on a link to go to a sub domain it brings up an error on the web browser. If you take the www away and just have subdomain.domain.com then it works.

I have been through the dns and added 50 www.subdomains for the ones that I can see but I would like to know if there is a way to sort out how to resolve automatically weather it has www or doesnt.

regards

Martyn
