Uninstalling PHP

The PHP that comes with Fedora Core 2 is a little old and i woud like to install the latest version of PHP (5.1), but when i try to install the package i get a message the package is already installed and in order to install new version I must uninstall the older version first. Problem is that PHP is not listed in the Modules i have installed, so I can't uninstall it through Plesk. What can I do?
