  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

update OS, difficult?

Basic Pleskian
Hi guys,

I'm about to purchase a VPS with Plesk 12, but at the moment the only available CentOS version is 6.
This comes bundled with PHP 5.3, while I need at least PHP version 5.4. I think CentOS 7 has PHP 5.4?

I want to use CentOs 7. Is it difficult to update from CentOS 6 to CentOS 7? Can someone point me to the steps I have to take in order to achieve this?

Many thanks in advance!

Actually I'm looking for something very simple, since this is all quite new to me.

I'm looking for some sort of "manual" that says "do this", "now type this" and so on...

Is it optionally possible to stick to CentOS 6 and only update PHP? Can that be done from within Plesk?

Thanks. By the way, in the first link I read about "Parallels Plesk Automation". Is that something different then Plesk Panel? Is it like a separate software package?
