  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Upgrade 7.5.4 to 8.1 - FreeBSD

New Pleskian
What's the best way to do this? I noticed the 8.1 docs recommend starting with a clean install. I have two servers I need to upgrade, one running FBSD 4.9, one 5.3. Here's what I'm thinking:
Upgrade the OS (to 4.11 & 5.4 respectively)
Upgrade Plesk to 8.0
Upgrade the OS on the 5.4 system to 5.5
Upgrade Plesk to 8.1
Do complete server backups
Restore the backups to fresh installs of FBSD 6.1
Any thoughts on whether or not this is the best way to do this? Will backups from older OS versions restore to newer os versions running the same Plesk version?
