• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Upgrade from version 10: www domains, redirect and naked domain

FrancescoH

New Pleskian
With version 11 of Plesk it is possibile to select the "preferred domain" for each hosting setting. The multiple choice is between: None, domain.tld, www.domain.tld.
I come from a previous version 10 installation, upgraded to 11.5.30 #21.

I have an old subscription like this:

domain1.tld was the principal domain for apache. Now it hosts only email service (and it is the only one with email service), and have to redirect(301) to domain3.tld.
domain2.differenttld was previous redirect(301) to domain1.tld. Now it shoul redirect to domain3.tld
domain3.tld is the new principal domain.
domain4.differenttdl is a new redirect to domain3.tld

domains 2 and 4 are configured as aliases of domain3. #4 works fine, while #2 (the one from version 10) goes to www.www.domain2
domain 1 cannot be configured as a redirect: hosting type is "website" and cannot be changed, maybe because it is the same as the subscription's name? And it goes to www.www.domain1 even if "preferred domain" is setted to None.

How can I set domain 1 and 3 to work properly?

Yes, I can. You can see it on this image. The locale is Italian: "Tipologia di Hosting: Sito Web" is for "Hosting type: Web site", that on the other domains of the same subscription has a "[change]" option.
