  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Question Upgrading from MySQL to MariaDB

kdawes01

New Pleskian
Hi,
My client has Obsidian 18.0.23 and I can see that it is using MySQL 5.1.73.

I'd like to get the database upgraded to MariaDB, but I don't see a way to accomplish that in the GUI.

How can I accomplish the upgrade?

Thanks!

Thank you for that info! I went to the article on upgrading from MySQL 5.1 and have successfully done so.

However, the thread: Question - Is MariaDB going to be updated with Plesk updates talks about updating MariaDB 5.5 to MariaDB 10.0 on Centos 7 and MySQL 5.5 to MySQL 5.6/5.7 on Centos 6

Evidently in my original question I should have mentioned that I'm on Centos 6.10. Can I even *have* MariaDB on Centos 6 or would I have to have Centos 7?

Is there a way to upgrade from Centos 6 to Centos 7? (Evidently Centos 7 comes with MariaDB built in)

Thanks!

Yes... but, within the comments on the Plesk article that is linked within that thread... user @ Stefan DOES ask the same question as you have (below) :p It is answered by Plesk but the answer is not currenty viewable

You would need to raise a ticket with Plesk support to find that missing answer I think

We don't use CentOs so can't comment, but @IgorG has given you an official answer now anyway.
