If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.

Upload timeouts.

New Pleskian
Hi,

Im using WPBuilder to create my pages. Since my website has grown (up to 150 pages with much information and photos) i get timeout errors when updating the website through WPB. For instance some photo's are not uploaded.

My hoster says that WPB is not suited for such big websites ? Is this the case?

What are my options to continue with WPB.. are the any options within the program which i can set to avoid get timeouts while updating/uploading.
Or is it a server side problem ?

Regards,

Bernhard.

Hello Bernhard.
It depends from site content. Site with 150 pages is enough big for WPB, but I saw sites with more than 500 pages (and working with this site was very uncomfortable).

Which WPB version do you use? In the latest WPB 11.5 was implemented a lot of optimizations for huge sites.

Hi,thank you for your reply,

Yes, just found out that this hoster uses an older version Web Presence Builder 11.0.8-6

I asked but they are not going to upgrade to 11.5

So to continue with this issues im wondering how to go along.
They told me that you can make a local copy of the website. So my question is;

When i make a local copy with wpb and then restore it with a hoster which uses wpd 11.5. Would this work ?

They also told me that it is not possible to make a backup an then edit those pages/website with another program ? is this true ?

Regards,

Bernhard.

Hi,

You can create/download your site snapshot and restore it at any other WPB installation (with version not less than 11.0.8) of any other hoster. It should work. Moreover I believe that your site will work better at WPB 11.5.

They also told me that it is not possible to make a backup an then edit those pages/website with another program ? is this true ?
I'm not sure that correctly understood you.
You can edit generated HTML for your site (through FTP for example), but with each publication from WPB all of your changes will be rewritten.
I does not know about some 3rd-party program that can edit sources of WPB site (snapshots or backups).
