  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Question Uploaded favicon not loading

Dave W

Regular Pleskian
Server operating system version
AlmaLinux 8.6 x86_64
Plesk version and microupdate number
Plesk Obsidian 18.0.45.2
Uploaded a favicon.ico to /usr/local/psa/admin/htdocs but its not showing on the pages, so I noticed that the favicon is now a vectorgraphics file at /usr/local/psa/admin/htdocs/images/favicon.svg

Will this persist through updates?

hmm

Tried this, no workee

So $PRODUCT_ROOT I assume is for Windows because this is not set on Linux.

Also the favicon the page is looking for is favicon.ico not favicon.custom.ico

Changing the name of favicon.custom.ico to favicon.ico results in the new favicon displayed.

This leads me to thinking it will get overwritten in a future update.

You can set custom favicons trough the Plesk GUI (Tool & Settings > Branding) now. Requires both an ICO and SVG file trough.

Hi Kaspar,
Yeah, spotted that, not feasible for multiple servers though. I can upload the images as favicon.ico and favicon.svg overwriting the Plesk versions. But I fear they will get overwritten on updates.
