  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

wdcollect crashing plesk

Hey team,

Every morning I receive a watchdog report that Plesk has crashed and been restarted, usually 4 or 5 times right in the morning around 3:00 or 4:00.

I checked /var/log/messages and find the following right around the times Plesk was discovered as down:

May 4 04:03:32 server wdcollect[4954]: Connection to server has been established.
May 4 04:05:15 server wdcollect[4954]: Connection to SMTP server has been closed.

This is getting very annoying - and is making me wonder what else is wrong. Can anyone suggest a way to figure out what the heck is going on?

Thanks a bunch,
Luke

Hi,

We have the same problem. What can we check to solve this problem?

We have 3 plesk servers and only one of them have this isue.

We are getting a similar message but in our case, the Plesk Server and Spamassassin are the ones that keep shutting down and restarting every hour or so.

I found this thread because we are getting a similar error message.
Oct 20 22:09:02 p0 wdcollect[22958]: Service is being stopped
Oct 20 22:09:02 p0 wdcollect[22958]: Server stopped
Oct 20 22:09:03 p0 wdcollect[31181]: Language en-US is used for sending e-mail messages.
Oct 20 22:09:03 p0 wdcollect[31181]: Database server connection has been established.
Oct 20 22:09:03 p0 wdcollect[31181]: Server started.

We are running Plesk 8.2.1 on CentOS.

Hope someone can shed some light on this. Thanks in advance!

WDCOLLECT Crashing Web Server

Did anyone find a fix for this? We started getting this every morning about 4.00AM with the WDCOLLECT message in the logs. We're on CentOS 4.2 with Plesk 8.3

I m getting exactly the same error in Plesk v8.6.0_build86080930.03 os_SuSE 10.3.

@Parallels: This is a showstopper! How can it be that this is still not fixed?

seems to be a problem with centos as I have the same problem in Plesk 9.2.1

I have diabled watchdog and wil be looking at an alternative solution.

Getting the same issue here. Also noticed in the message log file after a reboot I got this message
Sep 22 08:10:54 ns kernel: mtrr: type mismatch for fa000000,800000 old: uncachable new: write-combining
Sep 22 08:10:54 ns kernel: mtrr: type mismatch for fa000000,800000 old: uncachable new: write-combining

Is everyone getting that one too?

hi,
I'm getting exactly the same message in Plesk v9.5.3 rhel5.

Dec 3 00:47:00 mlwe611 wdcollect[24475]: Connection to server has been established.
Dec 3 00:48:16 mlwe611 wdcollect[24475]: Connection to SMTP server has been closed.
Dec 3 00:52:18 mlwe611 wdcollect[24475]: Connection to server has been established.
Dec 3 00:53:26 mlwe611 wdcollect[24475]: Connection to SMTP server has been closed.

I'm thinking about this is not the problem. may be is a break to rotate logs?
I get a message from watchdog saying web server is down at 00:46 and another one at 00:52 saying web server is up.

thank's for comments
