  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Weird problem with migration

Good morning everyone,

We have just acquired a new server with 8.1 on it. Before doing a mass migration, I am doing some testing by migrating a testing user.

The thing is as follows:

- In original server (plesk 7.5 in a FC1) we have a domain such as www.domain.com, with a DNS associated in the same server.
- In the new server we perfom migration of the whole client (3 domains) with fine results, except form mailman, which is not activated in that domain and becomes an error on the migration. Except for that, everythings fine.
- To test the mysql db integrity as well as the web page, I go to registrar and change default dns for that domain to the new server. I go to the old server and point also to the new server so I don't have to wait to see results.
- I assign to my lan connection the ip for the new dns server and try to go into the web page: It throws the correct ip, which means redirection's right, but instead of having the testing page I see the default plesk 8.1 page saying hostings's not configured or domain is not listed in this plesk server (???)

Any ideas??

Thanks,

5 minutes later...

Now it resolves misteriously correctly, but still having probles.

For mysql testings we have installed a oscommerce on the domain's httpdocs and a joomla on a subfolder...

When you go into the domain, it shows oscommerce with an error "session directory doesn't exist /var/lib/php/session", tha fact is that it actually exists on server...

When you go into the subfolder, it shows a blank page....

Any ideas? Most my clients work with joomla and CMS, I cannot migrate 'til I know what's going on...

Thanks,

I got it, it was not a basedir problem, as it was set to off

The problem was the changin of /home/httpd to /var/www, I made a softlink and everyghing works just fine now...

I feel stupid for not having seen it earlier...

Thanks anyway!!!
