• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

What happens to emails that cause an Overlimit?

Tantrumedia

New Pleskian
If we set an account to have a maximum of 10 emails per hour, and the user sends 24...
...what happens to the remaining 14 emails?

Do 10 get sent in the following hour... and then the final 4 in the next hour?

And if they send another 5 in that second hour, will this additional 5 get sent in the second or third hour with the final 4?

None of this is covered in any of the documentation I've read so far.

Thanks for any help. ;)

As far as I remember these 14 emails will be rejected with tempfail.

Could you expand upon what tempfail will cause to happen, specifically?
I would like to know if my clients emails will get stored and eventually get sent out, hour by hour... or if they'll have to re-send any 'failed' messages from their email software (Outlook / Thunderbird) again.
Many thanks!
