If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

What is the best way to set up a Secondary DNS server in Plesk?

Hello,

I need to establish a secondary DNS server, hopefully using Plesk.

I have 5 Plesk VPSs right now, so is it possible to use one of those for the secondary?

Also, I use one VPS just for mail, so would that be an appropriate VPS to use? We seem to be having some intermittent DNS issues on the mail server from time to time.

Thanks much in advance for your help,

Damian

You can also try 4psa's DNS Manager

www.4psa.com

That's what we use.

You can then use each individual normal VPS as a primary and then have a dedicated secondary DNS VPS as the secondary for all of them. Or run two dedicated DNS VPSes, each running DNS Manager (or whatever solution you find is best for you).

In all cases, the domain info is automatically grabbed from the source VPS using a small script that you install and run ever so often via a cronjob.

Faris.

Thanks for the options, everyone. I will get with my team and check all of this out.
