• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Question What's this link to plesk.ru doing in my wordpress sample page?

AKTM

New Pleskian
This might be a rather newbie-ish question:
I have set up a wordpress installation from the plesk web-interface. There's a link in the sample page of the wordpress installation that should link to the dashboard. However, it doesn't simply link to /wp-admin/ but to http://wp[ddd]m.a[dd]-[dd]-[ddd]-[ddd].qa.plesk.ru/wordpress/wp-admin/ (I have replaced the digits in the original URL with [d]'s out of caution since I can't assess the significance of the URL). DNS lookup comes up empty.

I've seen "qa.plesk.ru" referred to in two other places but none of them explain what the domain is used for, nor do they provide any insight on why this would show up in my wordpress installation within a supposed link to my dashboard. My guess would be that this is some identifier to keep track individual plesk installations but I'd like some more info on this just to be sure.

Thanks!

Hello! Which version of WordPress do you install? Could you please attach a screenshot or send it to me via private conversation?

Sorry for taking so long to respond. I ran a custom install. I believe it was either version 4.7.2. or 4.7.1 at the time I installed it. I'm sorry I can't be sure. It didn't seem like it would matter much at the time. I've provided a screenshot of the full URL in a private conversation. Thanks a lot!
