  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Wordpress Database

New Pleskian
Hello All,

We recently installed Plesk 12 in our environment and we initially had the intention of using MS SQL as opposed to MySQL that the Plesk install provides, as related to installing a Wordpress site.

We have connected the MS SQL database to "Database Servers" under "Tools and Settings" but we are unable to configure our Wordpress to use this database. It sticks to its default "localhost:3306"; being the MySQL database installed by Plesk.

Is there a way to use the MS SQL database we created with the Wordpress app or not?

Could someone answer this please?

Thanks.

I can say that Wordpress Tollkit does not support MSSQL databases. You should use MySQL for correct operation.
