Yum update and Plesk 8.2.X

Hi everybody.
Please, about Plesk 8.2.1 is it true that Plesk updater now performs OS updates too? Differently, is it safe to simply run a yum update?
My server provider told me to just run Plesk updater on FC6.

You're still better off using yum to update the system, and yes you should update the box regularly

You should also know that Fedora Core 6 will reach its end of life for OS updates on December 7 (i.e. in three days).
