• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

    Suexec policy violation

Hum. Did you upgrade from an earlier version of Plesk by chance? I upgraded from Plesk 7.5.4 when the directory was /home/httpd/vhosts/domain.com/cgi-bin... now it's /var/www/vhosts/domain.com/cgi-bin... I wonder if this has anything to do with it? BTW, I'm running RHEL5 and still having this...

Domain Templates and E-Mail Account Quota

Plesk 8.2.0: Just FYI, I have recently created about 35 domains in Plesk all using the same Domain Template that had the default mailbox quota set to "Unlimited" on it. For whatever reason Plesk created a blank @mbox.quota in /var/qmail/mailnames/domain.com which prevented any e-mail from...

    Problem Remove Domains (after migration)

Hey, Thank-you very much for letting me know, that's great. I had hoped that it was simply a visual bug ;) Best Regards, Matt Simpson

    Problem Remove Domains (after migration)

Nope. I got nothing. I don't have a support contract and I don't feel like paying SWSoft $100USD to figure out what their problem is ;) I'm all ears though is someone else hears something. ~Matt Simpson

what about a button in services to start/stop mysql?

You wouldn't be able to get to that page if MySQL were not running though. You couldn't log into Plesk, nor could you access any of the pages as they're all database driven. ~Matt

    Problem Remove Domains (after migration)

I just did what I thought was a fairly successful migration from Plesk 7.5.4 to Plesk 8.2 and today I had a problem with deleting a domain. When I click and confirm that I wish to delete a domain as the user who owns it I get the following error: This has happened across multiple clients...

    Calculating Disk Space

In Plesk 8.2 there is a new option (at least new to me) that asks: "When calculating disk space usage, count:" and my options are "file size" or "amount of disk space used". The help has nothing useful in it, does anyone know what the difference is? ~Matt

Big thanks to swsoft for a solid upgrade release!

I thought I'd comment too. I did an upgrade from Plesk 8.0 to Plesk 8.2 this week and the upgrade went flawlessly. That's the first time in a while I didn't have to do anything... I planned for 4 hours and it took me less than 1. I was happy. ~Matt

what about a button in services to start/stop mysql?

Hum... that might be a bit dangerous though. If you're currently on that "Services management" page, that means that MySQL is working. If there is a restart button, and it for whatever reasons fails to restart, and you don't know how to log in and start / fix it via SSH then you're SOL...

STILL no suPHP support in Plesk 8.2 -- SWsoft R U listening?

Why not just install suPHP yourself instead of complaining that it's not included with Plesk? It's a control panel people, it shouldn't have to hold your hand and wake you up in the morning. ~Matt

    Changelog

I'm going to bring this up again, because it is not only important, but imperative that administrators' know exactly what has changed in a Plesk release. I just installed Plesk 8.2 fresh install yesterday, and at the end of the day there was an update available. Trying to find out what...

Selinux + RHEL5 problem during installation...

Yeah, I had that problem too on RHEL5. What I did was open up : /etc/selinux/targeted/contexts/files/file_contexts and removed the line: /var/qmail/bin(/.*)? system_ubject_r:sendmail_exec_t:s0 Good to go after that. ~Matt

Newer version of the php-common package installed

Yes, it is silly as heck, but removing PHP on your new system completely, installing Plesk, then upgrading works just fine: Like I said, silly... but which eva. ~Matt

    RHEL5 and .autoinstallerrc syntax

Well there is _some_ documentation on it in the installation manual, but to call that adequate would be pushing it: http://download1.swsoft.com/Plesk/Plesk8.2/Doc/plesk-8.2-unix-installation-guide/index.htm Search for "repomd" It's hardly worth a read though. I have a better idea for...

    Upgrade from 7.5 to 8.2

Hey, Historically, I've just gotten a temporary 30-day licence key for the new server from SW-Soft. After I'm done the migration, I shut the old server down, then re-install my licence key. I was planning to do the same thing this time. Best Regards, Matt Simpson

    Upgrade from 7.5 to 8.2

Hey dourtyb, Yeah, I'm in the exact scenario and my plan is to use the Migration tools built into Plesk to migrate the data. I've used them from 6.0 to 7.5 and they worked fine. The only problem being that during the migration I'll need a bunch of temporary IP addresses on the new server...
