• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Question 2 email addresses

Good morning.
Is it possible for me to setup google Mx records for say admin@domain.com
And also forward a different email say info@domain.com to another email.

I have managed the google part but the second redirect is a problem.
Many thanks.

It is not possible to have a separate MX entry for one ore more email addresses. You will need to create a forwarding configuration on the receiving mail server to the "other" mail address.

Would you recommend staying with the plesk email then. I was getting cert problems etc. Just wasn't sure about it. I have Google workspace Pro.

The community won't be able to tell you what is best for your business. Email through Plesk works like a charm, but Google Workspace can do different things, so you'll need to decide that on your own.

Certificate issues with email are almost always caused by using the wrong hostname or domainname. For example if you have a domain.tld, but you address the server with imap.domain.tld or smtp.domain.tld the certifiate won't work, because it only covers domain.tld.

Hi Peter
Thanks for the advice
I have deleted the account from thunderbird and re added it and all seems fine just now. Will now see if forwarding works.
Thanks again.

Hi
well as expected mail works fine. Forwarding doesnt. I have tried 2 different email addresses and both dont forward. Is there maybe a setting i am missing. The mail server installed is
Postfix
Thanks

How do you know that forwarding does not work when you don't get any messages? Have you checked the server's maillog /var/log/maillog (/mail.log)?

Im not getting any messages into the test email and the other chap has been saying he doesnt get either.
Sorry where exactly can i find that log in plesk. Not too familiar with it

If you are unfamiliar with Linux and don't find /var/log/maillog, you can try to install the Log Browser extension:

Then you can search the logs in the graphical user interface of Plesk.

You'll need some log entry for your forwarding attempts, else it is not possible to determine the cause why a mail is not delivered to the recipient. However, most often recipients get the mail, but get it in their junk folder so that they don't see it right away.

Hows about these Nothing in Spam

The log excerpt does not show anything wrong. Could you maybe describe in detail from where you are sending mail to where? I also recommend to remove the mail addresses from your post for privacy reasons.

Basically thats it Im sure it worked before.Thanks.

I am sorry, I do not provide individual support. But you can open a ticket with official Plesk support:
They can check the issue directly on your server.
