• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

9.5 + IIS 64bit mode, finally compatible?

From other threads, it has been mentioned that plesk 9.5 comes out this month.

I have a long lingering question: When is Plesk for Windows going to truly support x64? As anyone who has used plesk on a 32 bit server, you should be well aware that it changes the entire IIS 7 to 32 bit mode. This then causes a slew of incompatibilities with other applications (like smartermail, smarter stats, team foundation server, etc), because everyone else expects a 64 bit IIS7.

I'm not even sure why 32 bit is necessary, since plesk should be able to just set this option on it's own application pool to function correctly.

Anyway, will this be the release where plesk doesn't flip the iis switch, or do we have to wait longer?

Hi Igor,

I couldn't find any mention in the release notes about that.
Does Plesk 9.5 fully support IIS in 64 bit mode?

Thanks.
